Google Supercharges Chromebook Plus with New AI Tools and Free Gemini Pro Plan

Google is enhancing its productivity-focused Chromebook Plus line with an array of new AI-powered tools aimed at improving workflow, creativity, and convenience. The update introduces smart screen selection, text simplification, AI writing tools, and a free subscription to the premium Google AI Pro plan, positioning Chromebook Plus as a competitive choice in the AI-driven PC market.

AI-Powered Screen Selection and Text Tools

The new screen selection tool brings Google Lens-like functionality directly to Chromebook Plus devices. By long-pressing the launcher button or using the screenshot tool, users can select on-screen content to trigger an instant Google search. This tool also enables quick text selection for calendar integration or note-taking.

Additionally, Google’s “Simplify” feature lets users apply AI to explain, summarize, or rephrase complex text, making it an ideal resource for students and professionals who frequently handle dense material.

Enhanced AI Writing and Image Generation

Building on last year’s introduction of the “Quick Insert” key on select models, Google now allows users to access AI image generation and writing assistance with a single tap. These tools are designed to streamline content creation, from generating visuals to drafting polished documents.

Exclusive AI Features for Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14

Lenovo’s newly launched Chromebook Plus 14 takes AI integration a step further with two exclusive features. The first uses AI to recommend optimal tab and document organization, helping users maintain an efficient workspace. The second adds advanced image editing within the Gallery app, allowing users to easily remove backgrounds or create stickers.

Running on an ARM-based MediaTek Kompanio Ultra chip, the device offers a vibrant OLED touchscreen and comes in 12GB ($649) and 16GB ($749) RAM variants.
