Stellar’s Protocol 24 Upgrade Sparks Investor Confidence — Can XLM Finally Reclaim $0.50?

Stellar (XLM) continues to attract growing institutional and investor attention amid a surge in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization activity. Recent on-chain data shows the network has surpassed $500 million in tokenized assets, with exposure to over $3 billion in real-world financial instruments, primarily U.S. Treasuries.

According to DeFiLlama, Stellar’s total value locked (TVL) recently hit a record high, with more than 456 million XLM staked across various DeFi protocols. Despite the token still trading 66% below its all-time high of $0.93, analysts believe Stellar could make another push toward the $0.40–$0.50 range as investor confidence strengthens.

Network Upgrades and Expanding Global Partnerships

The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) has rolled out multiple network improvements this year, the most recent being the Protocol 24 Mainnet upgrade, approved on October 22. The update fixes a glitch in Stellar’s state archival process, marking one of the fastest upgrade cycles in the network’s history.

This comes shortly after the Protocol 23 “Whisk” update, which introduced parallel transaction processing and unified asset events — both key improvements enhancing scalability and on-chain efficiency.

Stellar’s global reach continues to expand through high-profile partnerships. MoneyGram recently launched a mobile app in Colombia using Circle’s USDC stablecoin on the Stellar blockchain, enabling instant U.S. dollar transfers. Similarly, Pi Network’s integration has connected over 60 million users to Stellar’s growing DeFi infrastructure.

RWA Ecosystem: From Treasuries to Equities

Stellar’s RWA ecosystem remains dominated by tokenized U.S. Treasuries, which account for nearly 95% of total assets. The BENJI token, issued by Franklin Templeton, leads the sector with approximately $496 million in assets.

Moreover, Mercado Bitcoin announced a $200 million RWA issuance set to go live by late 2025, further solidifying Stellar’s presence in regulated tokenization markets. Platforms such as Archax and WisdomTree continue to expand offerings that include public equities, non-U.S. government debt, and real estate on-chain — adding credibility and institutional appeal to Stellar’s growing RWA ecosystem.

A Strong Foundation for XLM’s Next Move

As Stellar continues to integrate cross-chain tools and attract regulated financial issuers, investor sentiment toward XLM appears to be shifting upward. With strong fundamentals, network upgrades, and deep institutional connections, analysts suggest XLM could make a decisive move toward the $0.50 mark in the coming months.
