The Trump Organization is expanding its business empire once again — this time into the mobile phone market. On Monday, the company announced Trump Mobile, a new wireless service and a $499 smartphone, both set to hit the market in September.
A Presidential Phone and Plan
Trump Mobile’s flagship product is the “T1” smartphone, which features a gold-colored metal case engraved with the American flag. Running on Android 15, the phone boasts a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, a 50-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
Accompanying the device is The 47 Plan, priced at $47.45 per month — a nod to President Donald Trump’s current role as the 47th president of the United States. The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data, along with roadside assistance and a Telehealth and Pharmacy Benefit.
A screenshot from the Trump Mobile website displays the familiar campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” underscoring the political branding behind the product. The venture is the latest example of the Trump Organization leveraging the president’s image to drive consumer products, following prior efforts with Trump-branded watches, sneakers, and even Bibles.
Criticism and Comparisons
Notably, the President Mobile offering comes at a premium compared to competing budget plans. Verizon’s Visible offers a $25 monthly unlimited plan, and Mint Mobile provides a similar package for $30. The Trump Mobile site counters by claiming “the same coverage as the 3 nationwide phone service carriers” and promises U.S.-based customer service. However, when CNBC contacted the Trump Mobile support line, a representative declined to specify the location of the call center, citing security reasons.
At the bottom of the Trump Mobile website, a disclaimer clarifies that the service and products are provided through a licensing deal: “Trump Mobile, its products and services are not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed, or sold by The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals.”
An Expanding Business Portfolio
The move into telecommunications underscores President Trump’s continued efforts to monetize his brand. Ethics experts have raised concerns about these licensing deals, questioning whether they blur the lines between public service and personal profit. Nevertheless, the financial upside remains clear — Trump reported earning over $8 million from licensing agreements in 2024 alone.

As the September launch approaches, all eyes will be on whether Trump Mobile can attract loyal supporters — and customers — willing to pay a premium for a presidential phone and plan.
